L’Arrache-Coeur

L’Arrache coeur has been written in 1953 by Boris Vian a french writer, poet who belonged to the surrealism movement. Despite a sense of tragedy in the book, B.Vian gives a poetic nature to the reality which creates a sense of absurdity.

The book pictures a odd little town where people lives are driven by their absence of morality and repressed shame. There arrived Jacquemort a psychoanalyst who was born yesterday, left with a tag saying « Empty, needs to be filled up with passions ».

I work on his costume which embodies his lack of desire. The PEVA semi-transparent fabric tells that this man is about to disappear and also refers to his practice.
